The Domaine Boyar winery is best known for the Quantum brand, created in 1991. The labels of the Quantum wine range needed a new, fresher and more up-to-date design that would also have a huge impact. To do this, the company relied on the creativity of Jordan Jelev, the man behind The Labelmaker, and one of the world’s most well-known label designers.
Jordan decided to keep the brand name and slender bottle, using them as the basis for his new project. From the outset, he planned to create a label with an extensive surface area and thought that the perfect self-adhesive paper for this should have a very fine texture, an opaque finish and excellent technical properties, even in particularly moist conditions. The paper that inspired The Labelmaker was Manter Constellation Snow Country, produced by Arconvert. The designer created a delicately stamped line motif with transparent silk-screen varnishing on the immaculate hammer finish paper, extending from the upper-right corner of the label all the way to the focal point: the majestic letter Q. Due to its four centimetre height and the shine of the hot foil, Quantum’s Q is unquestionably the main feature of the label and stands out from the moment you pick up the bottle. The Labelmaker matched the colour of the capsule with the colour of the letter Q not only to increase brand awareness but also to enhance the elegance of the design project as a whole.
